The years between ages 6 and 12 are a significant stage in a child's development. As children navigate increasing academic expectations, peer relationships, emotional growth, and growing independence, they may experience challenges that affect their wellbeing at home, in school, and within their social world.
At Hakshiva Child Parent Clinic, we view these challenges within the broader context of the child's family, relationships, and environment. We believe that meaningful and lasting change occurs when parents are empowered to play an active role in their child's therapeutic process.
Our clinic offers child therapy through a holistic, family-centered model. Rather than focusing solely on the symptoms a child presents, we seek to understand the underlying factors contributing to those difficulties and how they relate to the child's emotional, relational, and developmental needs.
A core principle of our work is that parents are the most important resource in a child's life. By supporting and empowering parents, we help create sustainable change that extends beyond the therapy room and into everyday family life.
Our work places a strong emphasis on attachment, family relationships, and strengthening the parent-child connection as a foundation for healthy development.
Every family begins with a comprehensive intake process led by a managing social worker. During this process, we gather information about family dynamics, attachment patterns, challenges, strengths, and goals. Together with the parents, we develop an individualized treatment plan designed to address the unique needs of the child and family.
When appropriate, we may recommend additional services or develop a coordinated multi-service plan that integrates different therapeutic approaches and professionals. Our goal is always to ensure that each family receives the support that will be most beneficial and effective for their specific circumstances.
Each family is assigned a dedicated Case Manager who coordinates the therapeutic process, facilitates communication among professionals, and helps ensure that everyone is working toward shared goals. Through ongoing staff consultations, supervision, and regular reviews, we maintain a collaborative approach that allows the treatment plan to evolve as the family's needs change.
Our therapeutic plans are tailored to the needs of each child and family and may include a combination of the following services:
Parenting Therapy is a central component of our model. Through a dynamic, attachment-focused approach, we empower parents to better understand their child's needs and become active agents of change within the family. Together, we explore parenting challenges, family relationships, and how parents' own experiences may influence their parenting today, helping them respond with greater awareness, confidence, and intention.
Dyadic Therapy provides a space for parents and children to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, and build secure attachment through guided therapeutic interactions.
Children often communicate most naturally through creative expression. Depending on the child's needs, therapy may include:
We are committed not only to serving individual families but also to strengthening the wider community. Through workshops, seminars, and educational programs for parents, educators, and community members, we aim to increase awareness of children's mental health, promote the value of a holistic therapeutic approach, and reduce the stigma often associated with seeking support.
By empowering parents, strengthening attachment, and working collaboratively with families, we strive to create meaningful and lasting change for children and their families.

Adolescence is a time of rapid change for teens, involving the pursuit of independence, the testing of boundaries, and the development of decision-making skills. This transition can lead to tension between youth and their parents. A skilled therapist can help bridge this gap. Even when relationship dynamics are positive, a teen may seek a neutral, non-judgmental environment to discuss their experiences and personal issues.
Hakshiva’s in-house clinic offers professional, affordable counseling tailored to the unique makeup of the Beit Shemesh community.
Our observant, English- and Hebrew-speaking therapists understand the lifestyle and values of local families.
Support is available for issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, social difficulties, interpersonal conflicts, anger, and family issues.
Modalities used include insight-oriented therapy, CBT, and family therapy.
Trust is paramount; every phone call and inquiry is held in the strictest confidence.
A dedicated team of over 12 fully supervised therapists supports more than 150 local youth and families.
Clinical progress is often enhanced through collaboration while respecting legal and developmental boundaries. During the initial intake, the approach is determined based on the age of the individual:
For minors, parent involvement is a core component of the therapeutic process. Therapists work with the family to decide on the most effective way to involve parents in supporting the teen's growth.
For those 18 and older, parent involvement is the choice of the individual. They hold the right to determine if, when, and how their parents participate in their care.
Joint sessions with the parent and teen.
Separate parent meetings running concurrently with the individual therapy.
Periodic updates to share progress and discuss practical tools for the home environment.
In some cases, individual therapy for a teen may not be the primary need. Parents of youth of any age may seek guidance on managing challenging situations or strengthening their parenting partnership. Therapists are available to meet weekly with parents to provide a supportive space, helping to build communication skills and foster a peaceful home environment.
Taking the first step can feel daunting, but families do not have to navigate this season alone. Contact the clinic today to speak with the compassionate team and find the right support.
